O the colloquialisms people get wrong, they peeve me so.
As an English teacher, though, nothing will ever enrage me more than confusions of there/their/they're, were/where (which boggles my mind since they are two completely different words), to/too/two, it's/its, and there IS rather than ARE for plural subjects. I stab them all with my swift red pen.
Right in the neck.
And don't get me started on lay/lie tenses.
